I have a Field Optics Research binocular tripod mount with quick release. One thing I have not like about it is the quick release stud too easily swivels/moves. There is not enough friction between the stud and the binoculars, especially if you want the quick release slot to line up vertically.
I think I now have a pretty good solution to this issue, and in case anyone else has this issue, here is a simple solution. Replace the o-ring and washer that comes on the stud with a rubber grommet. The photo shows the correct size. This is from a variety pack I purchased at Harbor Freight (item number 67582).
