Or Braces" as we call them down here in NZ.

Has anybody made their own?? I'm looking for ideas for my second set, I made the first set to hold up my pants and carry my bino's, and they work OK but attach to my pants belt, which I'd like to avoid. Ideally I'd like the option of a thin belt below them so my roll up daypack (we call them a "Pikau" down here) can attach to it.

Thanks

Never made my own but I've played with both Sitka and First Lite suspenders. One thing I hadn't originally thought of was the back construction of the suspenders. I found found that the attachment point of the FL clips (left image) seemed to rub against my pack's lumbar pad which was very irritating. The Sitka suspender (right) did not have this problem as they avoid the lumbar pad altogether.

You can also see how the middle attachment point on the Sitka has contains stitched webbing. It sits flat against the back with no irritation while FL's did not.

I have and like the Sitka ones but I wish they had belt loop hangers like the first lite ones. I like them to lock on rather than fall off occasionally.

I made these ones (trucker style) and they work OK, I can carry my pack with them on - no interference at all, and my bino's clip to the D's at the shoulder. I would like to refine and simplify the next design a bit, possibly G clips that double round the belt, and lose the big front adjustment buckles.
