Make the Mesa even lighter?

I’m looking to replace the stock on a new Mesa to reduce the overall weight of the rifle. With the CA stock weighing a whopping 41oz, one should be able to reduce the overall weight by nearly 1 pound with a lighter weight stock?
Has anyone done this and if so what stock did you use, how much fitting required and what was the weight savings? Thanks

41 oz! Wow
Is that the standard sporter model or the Long Range?
Its a 700 clone so it should drop right into any stock inletted for one, you may need to do minor fitting depending on the stock. Sandpaper and a dremmell tool are good to have.

You'll need to get some bedding compound and bed the tang, front action screw area, and the recoil lug.
Make sure to bed 1" past the lug to support the chamber area.
Its pretty stupid easy watch some YouTube videos on the process.
For a stock the McMillan Hunters edge is pretty dang lite, Mesa Altitude is another I'd recommend.

This is what I use for bedding
