Up for sale is a sweet lightweight work horse. Remington model 700 Stainless Steel Mountain Guide chambered in 7mm-08 with a VX-3 3.5-10x40mm scope mounted in Talley one piece alloy rings. I purchased the rifle new direct from Gander Mtn in Washington, PA.

About the rifle:
  • Low round count, I don't have an exact number but likely under 250-275 rounds
  • As shown in the picture 6lb 9oz unloaded (I know the scale is close but certainly not certified)
  • Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40mm with the CDS turret. I do have two turrets from a second 7mm-08 I owned with a longer barrel. They will be included with the sale but unlikely to match ballistics with this shorter barrel.
  • Talley one piece alloy base/rings
  • I had the rifle shipped in from a different store, upon inspection I had concerns with the scratches on the barrel. It was recrowned by a train gunsmith Steve Malyuk. This process did leave the small ring on the barrel, as shown.
  • Accuracy has been consistent 1"-1.5" with factory ammo. It can be tricky to shoot as light as it is but has killed countless varmints, multiple deer and 3 black bears.
  • Bore Scope of the rifle for sale
Include in the rifle package include:
  • 500pcs of mixed once fired brass. I purchased most of this as once fired and have added to it between 3 different 7mm-08s
  • 100pcs of new Win stamped brass that has been Full length sized, trimmed, chamfered. Its ready to be loaded
  • RCBS Dies Sizing/Seating
  • Stoney Point modified 7mm-08 case
  • 40ct 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tips
  • 150ct 140gr Nosler Ballistic Tips
  • 99ct 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tips
If sold in person, I will include the following factory live ammo and holders. I will NOT ship live ammo
  • 46 140gr Nosler Partition
  • 20 149gr Barnes TSX
  • 30 139gr SP Interlock
  • 18 140gr Accutip
  • 20 140gr (I believe) Hot Cor
I live in W. PA south of Pittsburgh and would be willing to meet within a reasonable distance. I will only ship to a valid FFL holder. If your FFL will not accept the rifle from a non-FFL holder, my FFL guy charges $100 (additional)

$1500 FIRM, No trades at this time. This is not a fire sale, I don't NEED to sell the rifle. Quite frankly, I know I'll regret this if it does sale. I am only selling to help fund another rifle for my retirement hunt in 2029.

Had a couple questions asked that I wanted to post to all.

Yes, I would consider separating the live ammo and reloading components from the rifle/scope combo. Feel free to shoot me a reasonable offer but understand the ammo/reloading components were added to sweeten the deal. No low ball or ridiculous offers, I'll just delete them.
  • Yes it is the factory Bell and Carlson aramid fiber-reinforced stock (unmodified)
  • It is a standard Duplex reticle in the scope
  • The glass in the scope is as clear as when new. The 3.5-10 is a superb compliment to this rifle.
  • As suspected, the recoil is mild and very controllable in a lightweight package.
  • No feed issues, action remains smooth
I am very particular with my gear. While I have not hunting with this rifle in years, I have a yearly routine to check all of my rifles.

$1250 for the rifle, scope and bases shipped from a non-FFL holder to FFL add $100 to ship from my FFL holder. $1200 for a face to face transaction within a reasonable distance from 15317 zip code. Payment: Venmo - PayPal friends and family or you cover the 3% goods and service fee.

I’ll list the reloading components if the rifle sells

Still available the sale fell through on the perspective buyer side.
