Looking at the Tactacam Defend camera for my remote cabin for security. Has anyone used one of these with good success? Is there another brand that i should look at? Cell service is somewhat spotty, but Verizon and ATT seems to work out there.

(I moved your thread from the digiscope forum to the trail camera forum, you'll get a better response)

the Moultrie Edge is a scanning camera, meaning it scans the available signals and connects to the strongest. You'll never go back to a dedicated carrier camera. If you look at the top of this subforum, you'll see I've reviewed them extensively. You could get by with the original Edge (no AI, sends all pics taken) but the Edge Pro 2 will only send what you tell it to. Could choose "people"

Thank you, i will check it out. Two weeks ago was "hunting" season over there and someone busted the door off and stole a bunch of stuff, trying to do things different now.

Gosh, man, I am so so sorry to hear that. It’s such a gut ache and a violation when someone has entered your living space and stolen from you! Let us all know what cameras you end up with.

Ya it's a huge bummer, been working on it for the last couple years and the amount of damage they caused is ridiculous. Guess I will be putting in a vault style door and bars and metal security shutters on the windows.

When your set up and ready to catch them, leave some newly emptied boxes in or against your trash cans-area, like a TV box or two, and boxes of anything they stole, if you can get ahold of just the boxes, making it look like you replaced them with new products. The unfortunate side of this is you might end up with your door busted again.

Thanks, but this a remote cabin, with only 2 neighbors in the vacinity. I have 15 acres and they are on the over 1/4 mile away. Both neighbors are very good freinds, so it wasn't them. But I will make sure that I have several things changed by next spring. This area gets many feet of snow in the winter and travel there is almost impossible with out a snowmobile. Thanks again for the suggestions.
