About as objective as you can get. Thanks for taking the time to test and report back. Good stuff. As I offered earlier, here are some initial results using an infrared digital thermometer. I shot and took readings for 10 shots in about 10 minutes without the cover, shot another rifle for 30 min until the can was back to starting temperature, installed the LS Wild cover and then shot and measured the suppressor temperature for 10 more shots in about 10 minutes. This is not a scientific test, but it provides some data points that may be interesting so I thought I’d go ahead and share them.
The starting, ambient temp of the un-covered DD Enticer S-Ti was 49 degrees F, it was an overcast day so there wasn’t any direct sunshine affecting the suppressor temperature during the measurements. I took the baseline temp reading while aiming the infrared thermometer at the back ¼ of the can, basically at the blast chamber area. I did this because I was shooting prone and had to break position, reach forward and take the reading after each shot so I thought I’d measure at the part of the can that was closest to me. I noticed that the front half of the can gets much hotter than the back half so this temp data doesn’t reflect the highest temperatures that the can reached during the shot strings. The hottest temperature that I recorded when measuring the front half of the can was 235o, but I don’t think that was the peak temp that was reached. Next time I bring the infrared thermometer along I’ll measure the front of the can and see how hot it really gets. I also noticed that if I took a reading and then waited a few seconds and took another reading in the same place the temperature had already dropped quite a bit. When you see a temp lower than the previous shot I was probably reloading a magazine and the can had a chance to cool off, these Ti cans get hot quickly and also cool off quickly.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the data. I found the results very interesting as well.Thank you for sharing very useful data!. Are you by chance left handed?
I was just curious on the shot order with left to right stringing. No judgement, just curious. Again really appreciate the evidenced based reporting on the over. Seems perfect for a hunting can. I plan to order a couple this weekend when I can get some measurementsI'm glad you guys enjoyed the data. I found the results very interesting as well.
And no, I'm not left handed. Why do you ask, @Wiscgunner ?
Oh, that wasn't the actual shot order, just the order I entered it into the Hornady app. I didn't plot my shots and I didn't have a spotter with me so that wasn't part of the expirement.I was just curious on the shot order with left to right stringing. That’s not a problem with our cover!Almost shot the cover off my can this weekend. Picking up a couple as soon as I get back from spring bear.
Will also be wanting one for the UM can, I don't assume there are any issues with making one for it?
I’m done hoping my scythe won’t blow up, I’m now on the acceptance/waiting phase. It’s probably going to blow up….sometime.I just placed my order this morning. Hopefully my Scythe doesn’t blow it apart!
I haven’t ran my scythe too hard but if it fails, I feel confident that SilencerCo will make it right. They fixed my specwar 762 quick with no fuss.I’m done hoping my scythe won’t blow up, I’m now on the acceptance/waiting phase. It’s probably going to blow up….sometime.
They will certainly fix it. A few folks though have had their fixed only to blow apart again though. It's also discouraging to hear people say they had the SiCo products (like your spectra) that also failed. Posts like that basically confirm what I've thought all along about silencer co.I haven’t ran my scythe too hard but if it fails, I feel confident that SilencerCo will make it right. Oof. Hadn’t seen those, that sucks. My specwar repair was user error. My brother didn’t get it locked on the asr brake correctly and launched it 50yds down range, tore up a few baffles pretty good.
