I like the Ticam better, but it's a little stiffer too. Either boot will work great (if it fits),but the Ticam will last longer and the Camino will probably be better out of the box.

Lowas are stiffer than all get out. For what you are describing I'd go with the lighter one. I got a pair of Lowa Zephyrs for what you are describing.

I looked at the zephyrs and just wasn't impressed. Ever since i got my kennetreks i have fallen in love with stiff soles. I just cant stand how warm they are in the summer.

Im looking for something lighter that can handle a pack with some weight in it. But yet still breath. The camino really fit my feet great out of the box and are a bit lighter. They have a somewhat stiff sole to them. The ticams have just the slightest bit of heel slip but they offer that stiffer sole.

Have a look at the below link under the Catalog drop down box. The boots are all categorized under specific different applications or uses. For example you will find the Tibet under Backpacking as it has a stiffer shank, rubber rand etc but if you look at the Renegade you will find it under the Hiking category - no rubber rand, a much more flexible shank etc.. They will have what you are after - just a matter of looking through the different categories. The Ticam is rated as a backpacking boot, the camino as a trekking boot.

Is that really a big issue though? The caminos are a stiff boot and very well made boot. At rei they are labeled backpacking boots. The caveat is I have not been able to try on the tibets or ticams so I don't know first hand how they compare. I tried on the caminos and thought they were wonderful but with all the talk of the tibets I wanted to wait and try those as well before making a purchase.
