At one time alot of guys were wearing and recommending these boots. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore and I thought I remember some people complaining that they changed the quality and they don't hold up.

There are some good deals on these boots right now and I was curious if anyone has purchased them recently and what they thought?

Do they hold up? Stay waterproof?

I have the leather lined version and they have been some of my favorite boots. I wouldn't wade in them, but creek crossings and normal rain and wet foliage they have stayed completely dry. Just had a local cobbler replace the sole for less than $100 so they are good to go for another couple of seasons

I still like mine, they’re a couple years old so if they changed recently I wouldn’t know. I think this is my third set since about 2009.

I have a pair of Tibets but don't have enough miles on them to know how they are going to hold up. The build quality seems to be top notch and they are made in Germany. My Lowa Camino GTX's have 5 years of hunting multiple species and seasons on them and they are still waterproof. The rand on the toes are just beginning to separate from the leather in a couple of spots. I'll probably replace them after this season. I think Sierra has the Tibets and Caminos for under $140 right now. I paid $280 for my Caminos 5 years ago.

Good to know about the re sole. I was wondering that. I got 2 years out of my Kenetreks and it's $200 to send them in. I might see if someone can do it locally.

Just an FYI for everyone Sierra has Tibets on sale for $139 and has a free shipping code.

Just ordered a pair.

The Tibet at Sierra is a fantastic price.
They are a very stout boot, pretty heavy and stiff. Lots of guys are moving towards lighter and ‘faster’ boots, but if these fit your feet they will work great.

Hows the fit compared to other Lowas such Renegade?

I picked some up for that price a couple months ago. I think they’re good for that price. I don’t think the traction is amazing. Solid comfy boots for the right application at 139.00 is a win for me.

Not sure on the new ones, but my Tibets from a few years ago are great. Like someone else said, they are a bit heavy though. They are one of the few boots made that will fit my foot. I bought a pair of Crispi’s and they are a great boot and my go to now, being much lighter. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a pair at $140 and may jump on there and see if they have my size just as a backup.

I love my Tibets. They are a bit heavy, but I haven't found a hunting boot that feels better on my feet. I treat them with Nikwax about every-other season and I have had no issues with leaking.

Not sure why you don't see them recommended as often as ten years ago, other than maybe people prefer lighter weight options.

I think the Tibets run a hair long. They are wider than the Caminos by a good bit, and I would say as wide or maybe a hair wider than the same size Renegade, and I would say have a bit more volume than the Renegade.

As others have said, nice boot that is built on a last that seems to fit many people.

I have some that have been great but they don’t fit as well as I have gone to an 11.5W. I can’t sell them as they’re so cheap new now 😂

If anyone wants a good deal on some 11W let me know.

I bought some last fall on a similar deal. Been standing in water the past couple weeks while trout fishing to test them out and haven't had any leaks.

I know the trendyness of Crispis probably hasent helped but I remember a thread where guys were complaining that the quality took a dive and they weren't the same as they used to be. I could be wrong.

I’ve two pairs of Lowa Tibets. Use them for chukar hunts, two pairs to swap off each day. Wore on an Alaska sheep hunt too. One much older than other, sent to Lowa to resole, even put a new rand on, several years ago. I have Superfeet insoles in them as I wear those in all of my shoes and boots.

Great boots, indestructible. Extremely comfortable and little to no break in was required when I wore them. I cannot attest to the most recent makes.

I also have a pair of Lowa renegades I wear them to the ranch, quail hunts, and hikes not as demanding as needed for rocky, lava terrain and climbs. They too are a very tough and comfortable boot. Extremely versatile , and a lot more flexible but not as rock solid as the Tibets on the mountain.

One wish-
Wish I had applied SnoSeal before I went on AK sheep hunt. Guide (nor I) didnt have a sil tarp to wait out numerous significant rain storms, and mine got damp. Granted boots were a season or two old, but would have kept my feet drier. Use it now and feet stay dry

Have considered buying a pair of Crispis to try, just haven’t pulled trigger on them. Being in Texas, haven’t used them enough to warrant a third pair of mountainous boots.

Has anyone bought and tried the new updated Tibet? Looks like they changed the look slightly and see they also discontinued the evo hunter extreme?
