Looking to get my Lowa Tibets re-soled this year, but Lowa says they are not performing this service right now. Im considering sending them to Rocky mountain resole, or Dave page to get em back in shape.
Also considering just replacing them with a new pair of Tibets. I love these boots, and would be happy getting a new set.
Any other suggestions for a comparable boot that runs up to a size 16? Any comments or concerns with resoling vs buying new? seems like 150-200$ gets them resoled, and 450 gets me a new pair locally.

I’d look at Hanwag Alaskas if you’re considering new. I got a pair of Lowa Banffs, and compared to my Hanwags, there’s no comparison. They just feel cheap. Got them for $120 when REI was closing them out. They offer the Alaska in a size 15 which might work, check sizing as numbers aren’t consistent between brands.

Lowa no longer offering the rebuild service really damages their value prospect, as other brands offer better boots for the money, but no rebuild service.

Dave Page does good work
Has Lowa permanently quit rebuilding?
That was a big part of the reason I went with Lowa
they posted they are "temporarily" closing the service down back in April, no idea if its actually temporary or not.

like everyone else, they can't find enough people that actually want to work. tons of stuff you can't get or services not offered anymore.
