Hello all,

I’m pretty new to all of this but I just bought my first nice rifle purchase and got a browning xbolt pro McMillan in 7mm PRC. I’m looking to run a leupold vx5hd 3x15x44 on this gun. Does anyone have experience running this scope with low vs medium rings? I will be mounting directly to the action, I know ring manufacturers have different heights but wanted to get yalls opinion if you have any experience. Any photos would be appreciated.

Also if you have any ring recommendations let me know, I was currently looking at the leupold back countries or the talleys.

Thanks

I have medium Takeys and just took my VX5 off a Ruger American Predator which has a thicker barrel then most spotter rifles. As I was taking it off, I told myself that if I were to ever put it back, I was going to use low rings as it appears there’s enough clearance.

I have two rifles with VX5 scopes and both have Seekins low rings

Interesting. I am leaning towards going with the Talley lows

I’ve used Talley Lows to mount that scope. Different rifle, but you should be fine on yours.
