Love Thy Neighbor

There’s reporting all over Twitter right now that his roommate was actually his trans boyfriend.

I agree there are still a lot of unanswered questions. You’ll be hard pressed to convince me that he didn’t have accomplishes on the front and back end. I watched that video of him jumping off the roof. I don’t think there’s any way it was in his pants at that point.

People celebrating on tik tok and blue sky are being posted all over Twitter. These aren’t just a few edge cases.

Yeah, I was just reading about the roomate thing, too. Alright. I'm going bear hunting.

So.... what you seem to be suggesting is that since the last version of the FBI suckes, its permissable for this version to also suck. Weird take, but ok.

As is their 1st amendment right. Some of them may very well have signed social media waivers with their employers and gotten fired or reprimanded, but outside of that, they are free to express themselves whether you, I, or anyone else finds it distasteful or offensive. even deeply offensive.

And while we're on that, end of the day, Kirk was a social media influencer. That certainly doesn't mean that he deserved what happened, but we have esteemed vets who don't get their caskets carried by military honor guards. (If you don't know, an Air Force honor guard apparently handled his casket). He was an influencer, not a medal of honor recipient. Sure, you have these people on one side saying things that are distasteful or offensive, but then you have these folks over here on the other side attempting to elevate a social media influencer into some sort of demi god status. Let's keep it real.
I'm all about keeping it real.

I didn't say the current FBI sucks, you did. You implied that the last version was better, which is false.

I never said Kirk should receive the medal of honor. You said that you haven't seen anyone celebrating his death, which you'd have to stick your head in the sand to not see it right now. I agree he was just an influencer, I didn't really watch a lot of his stuff. That doesn't mean he deserved a 30-06 to the neck in front of his family. You're right, the freedom of speech is a right we have and Charlie Kirk had that right and it was taken from him because he was practicing it. If people decide to celebrate a public execution and their employer decides to not employ them or they're labeled a social pariah (as they should) then that's the consequences to their actions.

Speaking of weird takes, it seems you're good with Charlie getting a 30-06 in the neck? That's your deal but I'm not going to change your mind and you're not going to change mine, so have a good night. I'm done with this thread.

Mathew 5:43-48
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Luke 10:25-37 makes clear who are our neighbors; for those who think they can define the word to suit their liking and prefer love thy neighbor to love thy enemy.

Matthew 7:13-14
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

If honestly attempting to love our enemies is a requirement to pass through the narrow gate, it is no wonder few find it. It is a hard directive to embrace, likely the hardest. I certainly find it hard.

I'm sorry folks but you can spout chapter and verse till the cows come home. My trust and respect is earned over time. Until then I look at everyone with a vote of caution. I have a couple neighbors that I have learned to trust and depend on. I got new ones this spring and I keep the gate locked and watch very carefully. My policy is cover your butt - don't trust anyone. Even family!

I ain't reading all this...

But actually talking to people with drastically different beliefs and viewpoints just reinforces how much we're really all basically the same.

And if your beliefs or standards are changed by exposure to something different... Did you really believe it?

I trust and respect everyone, it's theirs to lose.

This is how I am. I trust no one, until I know I can. Ive got friends closer then even my own blood family.

Respect all. Fear none. Trust few.

Anyone who quotes Scripture to get your trust is not trust worthy. Quoting Scripture has nothing to do with earning respect, if you are a Christian than scripture should be meaningful to you for what it is, if you are not, then treat it like a quote from The Iliad or Shakespeare and evaluate its value or lack there of for yourself.

Nothing about loving your neighbor says you must trust him. Love often demands you do not.

If I were a person tempted to steal, I would appreciate locks as they reduce that temptation.

If my child is developing a bad habit, out of love I take steps to correct it for their own well being.

If I start falling into bad habits I take steps to correct it. Some times those steps are not enjoyable to take.

If love means making everything easy for someone to you and giving them whatever they want, well we are not talking about the same thing.
Proverbs 13:24 "
Whoever spares the rod hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them."

I don't discipline my children by killing or maiming (to include emotionally) them. Nor do I discipline myself in destructive ways.

Love can be very hard, but it seeks the ultimate good of that which is loved.

Your entire reply makes me think of folks who ask me what to look for in a contractor.

If one claims to be a Christian, or let's you know in their business, name, advertising, etc keep from them. A company that has to try to win you over with their Christian values have non. They're some of the scumiest contractors ive dealt with in life.

Ones life style should be a direct reflection of Christ, (mine isnt, so dont think im trying to be holier than though, im far from the perfect Christian.) If you need to let everyone know your beliefs, or your life style, I doubt you truly believe what you do. And only doing it for a show or to get something out of it.

(Disclaimer, not all contractors who use religion in their business sales, advertising, etc are bad, but id say a good 75% are, if you take offense to this, will you're probably one of the 75%.)

He attended one semester at Utah State University. 60%+ Mormon student body (not suggesting Mormon religion had anything to do with recent events, only pointing out that this is a rather “conservative” school by many standards). Then he went to a VoTech school.

Your intent here seems clear, but you might want to wait until we have more information before making assumptions and drawing conclusions.
My assumptions all came true. Completely radicalized, living with a trans "girlfriend". I don't have intent, it's just obvious. What do you think happened? He was going to church, learning about Jesus, going to Trump rallies then just decided to murder Charlie Kirk? It was either social media or college that influenced him along with the Democrat controlled media calling us all Nazis, fascists, racist and declaring we are literally at war. They believe Trump is a dictator, that he is actually Hitler and they are freedom fighters saving our country from evil. That violence is a proper response to words, because "words are violence". I saw a video of a young woman in college yesterday that was laughing, showing everyone in her class, the video of Charlie being killed. The most disturbing thing was how happy she was that HIS KIDS WOULD GROW UP WITHOUT A FATHER! WTF??? This is who we are dealing with.

I have met so many people over my life that have used faith for cover of their bad actions and intent, that the words "god bless you" makes my hair stand on end and puts me in a strongly defensive position. The worst of the worst have tried that leverage and have conditioned me to get my guard up and prepare for what is coming and I am rarely dissapointed.

One of the guys who works for my plumbing sub likes to say "If you see the little fish on their advertising, watch out''. I've heard it multiple times from him. It's too bad, but there does seem to be some truth to it.

Definitely a situation where it's better to under promise and over deliver.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.
Matthew 7:15

Using a cross or a fish decal, maybe quoting a random scripture, and using a little bit of Christianity to turn people away from Christ, is exactly what the devil wants.

I agree, it doesn't exist on nature, but we are not animals. Are ability to reason, empathize, think logically, to continue and develop technological advancements shows us we're not animals, and we shouldn't act like an animal either.

I can disagree with someone, but hurting others because we disagree, or devaluing someone because we don't agree is at best animal behavior, we're better than that, at least we should be.

We are absolutley animals. Come on man.

Normal people don’t use their right to free speech to celebrate the death of an innocent man. Ridiculous that there are people like you who defend that behavior under the veil of free speech.

Liberals are disgusting people.
