Pulled a cow elk tag in for E3 in North Dakota, first ever elk tag and hunt for me. Spent the day on google earth and fish and game website trying to figure out possible places to go. I'm stoked and can't wait for August, got almost a month of use or lose leave to burn before the end of september, shouldnt be too hard! If anyone has hunted this unit before, I'd love some help, as I'm completely new to this, and haven't set foot in the area.

Not to hijack your thread but I somehow managed to pull an Any Elk tag in Unit E1W. I don’t know anyone there and have never been there. Does anyone have any info on that area? Possible contacts for a good starting point so I am not just calling every number I can pull off of OnX? Thanks and Good Luck!

There are elk for sure in the Turtle Mountains. I have never been there before but if i drew that tag i would definitely be making a trip up there this summer to scout and make some contacts. Good luck!
