Neither. From what I’ve seen it’s in the middle- an overall relatively small improvement for some uses. Might be worth it to some, might be not.

Just calling it silly how in the course of a year it went from being a poster child to being a bad scope here in the forum.

I think you've just named your own perception problem - dial back on both the overstated "poster child" and "bad scope" and you'll arrive at the same assessment many of the rest of us have.
