I'm looking for a good pair or two of work boots. I'm a field forester so I'm outside every day no matter conditions. They will see some chemical in the summertime spraying (backpack sprayer about 40lbs), paint marking timber, chainsawing (FSI) most of the winter but more importantly 4-12 miles a day. I do need waterproof, durable, comfortable. I've been looking at a few of the crispis but open to trying out alot.
Thanks
Happy new year everyone!

I’ve been a Red Wing wearer all my life. Went to purchase a new pair and slip on was the only option they had on the brand. I went outside of the box and purchased a pair of Keens. I have to say they are like wearing a pair of sneakers. I have only had them for three months, so far so good. The only complaint I have with the pair that I have is the tops need one more eye at the top for better ankle support.

I'm a Forester as well and my favorite non winter work boots are Scarpa Fuegos.
Nothing aside from the ergonomically challenged Nicks/Whites are as durable.

I know you said waterproof but I strongly believe it's better to run non goretex boots daily, and get a separate pair for wet conditions. Check out the Scarpa Wrangell or kineses Pro

Check out Thorogood Boots. Bought my first pair a couple months ago. Don't remember the model but there a 400 gram safety toe boot. Unbelievable comfort. I'm extremely hard on boots I play in mud all day and cow dung at night. I've tried most brands and am very happy so far with these.

+1 on Thorogood
I have used them exclusively for work and now hunting for maybe 8 years now. I walk around in cow manure all day and they hold up well, usually over a year. Seem like a good company, here out of Wisconsin.

Another vote here for Thorogood work boots. American made too.

Check out Hoffman Boots, I am a forester as well. I usually where my Nicks in the summer, but run a Hoffman pack in the winter. You can get a non-insulated Hoffman Explorer that should work well. Im sure as you know every forester has their own favorite boot for work.
