Hi Roksliders,
Just looking to find a partner to go elk hunting (Bow) in Idaho or Colorado. This will be my first season bow hunting. I am an avid backpacker. I just started hunting big game last year. I was able to take a 4 point mule deer in a tough zone. I am from CA. I am in decent shape and have the gear to go deep. I would share half of my meat if I was successful and your were not. I cant take 3weeks of in September. Let me know me know if you have any questions.

When I was a youngster I live in San Jose. We would spend most of our weekend in Santa Cruz.
I am about 7 hours away from you in the Owens valley. If you want to go chase elk let me know.

My plan so far is to get out there in one piece and camp and day hunt from the truck for a day or so while I acclimate. Depending upon what I find at that spot I may stay a bit or pack up and backpack into a wilderness area.

The area I've been looking at is in the Pioneer zone.
