I'm thinking I'd like to find an elk shed or two and maybe mulies also. Not looking at actually hunting spots for this so I assume there could be some places that are off limits to hunting but would be OK to shed hunt.

I hope to visit quite a few places so I am game to any suggestions in the midwest or western states. Of course I'll have to research the laws of any area I shed hunt to see if permits are required and how to stay compliant.

Yea-I would not go to Yellowstone now (until maybe Sept) for anything. I am hoping to go places much less crowded-possibly some state parks etc. I will be scouting some hunting areas in Wyoming and Montana so perhaps I'll find some there as well. I am not looking to sell any antlers -but I am thinking of some projects for sheds.

If just looking for a project antler it would be way cheaper to just buy them but way less adventure.
Find areas around 7k and start beating brush. Will be more challenging with the grass tall.

Antler buyers are paying good money this year so lots of folks have been out and about looking for them. Good luck. Find windblown southern exposures and do some walking. Wyoming snowpack was different this year so some may have stayed up higher in timbered areas instead of wintering ranges.

I'm coming up to spend some time in Wyoming next week and figured almost everything would be gone by now. I might have to do some hiking. I'd be happy with a single shed!
