I would like to hunt goat but looking at the Yukon as I'd like to marry up with Caribou or Grizzly. It doesn't look like there are many outfits that advertise goat hunting. Any referrals?
Ceaser Lake Outfitters is your only option in the Yukon for a guided mountain goat hunt to my knowledge, just a small population along the NWT border. Supposed to be a good family run outfit with all the species you're looking for, I had past clients hunt moose with them and they had nothing but good things to say. Lots of options in BC for goat and caribou ... no grizzly unfortunately.
Hunting rifle or bow? What are your expectations as far as hair length, B&C quality, horseback vs backpack, budget?
If $$$ is no concern than Milligan Outfitting (Bob Milligan) or Bolen Lewis (Mike Lewis) is a no brainer for late season coastal B&C goats. Others to consider are Babine Guides and Outfitters (Hoopers), Kispiox Valley Outfitters (Larson), Lonesome Mountain Outfitters (Young), Love Bros. & Lee (Fleming) and North River Outfitting (Nemetchek) in the Skeena Region for quality backpack hunts with great genetics. All these outfitters have been around for a long time and produce each season. Some of these areas are fly-in only, others are backpack from the vehicle giving the hunter a more economical option.
Some horseback options would be Northwest Ranching and Outfitting (Gutfrucht), Bluestone Guiding (Oestreich), Spatsizi River Outfitters (formally Collingwood Brothers) and Kawdy Outfitters (Niemeyer) to name a few. Some good options in the Peace Region as well, check out the GOABC website for a resource. Good luck,
Really wanted to stay in Yukon for the Grizzly options. Looks like I only have one choice.Hunting rifle or bow? What are your expectations as far as hair length, B&C quality, horseback vs backpack, budget?
