Tall guy with big torso. I have mtn pants from sitka, love them and they fit good in the tall size, however all the jackets from sitka feel extremly short. Not gonna pull trigger on the jackets, just dont feel right. Is there any of the big companies that have jackets that tend to be athelic cut and longer sleeves. Gonna change my system and biggest thing im looking for is a coat that fits. Other companies such as marmot and other companies in the hiking world seem to master fitting, why cant some of these companies in the hunting world. Heck, the core t from sitka sleeve length is 3 " minium short. This is not as sitka bash , I feel there quality is superior

Just picked up a first lite stormtite and was surprised at how long the sleeves were (not too long but almost) but as far as the torso goes it is comparable to kryptek meaning not too long. I wear an XL.

DIY, how tall are you? I am 6' 6" and average about 270 with 40 inch inseam and long arms and have been wearing the KUIU system and it fits me good, the sleeve length is fine. Where I tend to have issues is in all pants, and have chosen to go with wearing gaitors to help. As far as sleeve length goes, I have a guide coat in 3xl and it is great, also just picked up one of their merino tops in 2xl and it fits great as well. I also have an older UA softs shell that also fits great. Another guy on here that could help is Jdog, dude is like 6'9" and has helped me with gear in the past. Sitka and Kryptek have never fit me well enough to buy (way too short in the arms and legs), never tried core 4 or first lite.

I just bought and sold a xxl dcs guide coat. It fit me, but layering was completely out. It was barely a fit with me at 6'6" / 230. The front lower waist was barely covering me.
HOWEVER>>>
I just picked up (and received today) a first generation KUIU guide coat in vias...xxl, and the fit is perfecto, like it was tailor made. It fits like an xxl should.
at $75 it was a homerun.

I have no idea why KUIU and Sitka gear have sought to minimize their gear---"athletic fit" are their code words here--but their fit system is a complete joke. American men are larger than Chinese men. I'm very trim for a 51y/o guy, but if a guy is LARGE, he had better look elsewhere. A Kuiu XXXL 'might' fit with some luck.

Im 6'4" 215 lb. My problem is when I size up to get length in sleeves and torso I usually have a baggy coat. Im just wondering what company out of the big 5 fits taller guys in coats. Sitka pants are fine for me in tall but the jackets are bad. Im assuming kuiu and first lite might be a better ft it?

I would at least give them a try, not sure where you are located but there might be someone close that has some of the gear to take a look at. There have been some 2xl stuff from Kuiu on the classifieds as well.

I might just order kuiu then return if a problem...first lite might be after. Just wondering what ill like better

You know who can answer this question best? The guy who sees and sells it all. Kendall has helped me accurately select the perfect fitting items 100% of the time on a variety of pieces from different manufacturers. Give him a call...he's a bow hunter and knows it all. Really great guy too.

First lite is like a tall in other clothes. Sitka jackets are too short for me and the first lite stuff fits really well. 6'3 205 with long arms.

First lite pants are long enough for you?

First lite has been good from what I can tell with trying it on. Pants not an issue since I only wear 34" but being 6'5" I have a long torso and usually have to order Xxl for sleeves to be long enough. Tried on the stormtight jacket yesterday and a large fit in sleeves and was not to short in torso. I do wish it was a little longer but it will work. The other jacket was the 3.75 I think and it took a Xl but fit pretty good compared to other brands that are belly coats.

I will tell you that KUIU runs small and short on me for torso and sleeve stuff. First Lite fits pretty well and I wear a 38" sleeve length. Pants........well, they aren't even an option from most of these companies for me. I need a 38" inseam.

I can speak for core 4e stuff. I am 6'5" and have a 34 inseam so long torso as well. The c4e stuff fits me really well. I pretty much lived in the element pants and jacket this past elk season.

Dan, what size element jacket did you go with? I am 6'4, 210 and leaning toward XL.

I'm 6'5" 225+/- and the element XXL= Jacket fits perfectly. The xl will likely be a bit small...if you like to layer at all, go with the XXL.
