What’s everyone using for long term storage. I want to bag them and not worry about them for 5-10 years. And they will be stored inside, I’m not trying to hide them for some apocalypse.
I have a collection that’s more of an investment and don’t use them all. I’m sure some day the family will ransack it but until then I would like to pack them away and not worry about wiping them down once a year.

Mine are in a climate controlled safe and I have a couple that have been in there for over 5 years without me touching them other than to take them out and look them over.

May help to say what region you live in.
If you live in a dry climate a safe will work without a single wipe-down for at least 15yrs. Don't need desiccant or controlled climate.

A safe would be ideal, but unfortunately it’s not possible for everything. I’m located in Ohio, so we get some humidity.
I was looking at Zerust VCI storage bags. They say up to 5 years, which I can work with. Has anyone used these?

Ttt. Still wondering if anyone has tried Zerust VCI storage bags or anything similar for long term storage.

VCI works very well. The best that I have found is from Correct Products (others probably make something similar). They make a roll of 8" wide VCI material that works on a vacuum sealer. A vacuum sealed rifle will last a long, long time. Cut to length, seal one end, insert firearm, vacuum it, and seal it.

Thanks for the feedback.
I’m going to try the zerust vci zip closure bags with a coating of break free collectors oil.

Found your post. What are your impressions with Zerust? Looking to do the same as you for a couple firearms and then store them in plastic cases.
