I was looking for this exact thing about a year ago.

The best mix of everything I wanted (relatively light, good elevation travel, good magnification range, budget) was the athlon ares btr 4.5-27x50. I snagged a gen 1 for $400. It weighs 27oz has 100 moa travel and you can still get gen 2s for 450-550ish.

I have a Vortex Razor LHT I can sell you, otherwise you are looking at VX3 or a VX5 when it’s on sale or a Trijicon ten mile is a decent option when it is on sale. If that price range you either need to wait for a sale, buy used like mine or go with a mid level vortex/leupold.

I know there are other brands that have good options in that price range I just don’t trust them because I haven’t used them. Pure personal preference.

I’ll have to look into that one, I’m fairly proficient at long range with my 300wm and reloads I just got this more for antelope and long range coyotes. It has the sig tango4 but they are discontinued so I’m trying to find something similar.
I literally might have a V4 4-16 open box sitting here if you're interested.
