Long COAL in 22-250?

Hornady book lists 2.490 for 75 ELDM. I’m finding the lands and then seating .020” deeper which puts me at 2.630.

Seems really long to me? Usually my lands aren’t that far from book COAL. I would think my pressures would be a fair amount lower at the same powder charge as a COAL of 2.490.

Thoughts?

Don’t have my notes handy, but I believe I’m shooting 88gr elds around that oal

Thanks for confirming. I know each rifle will be different but to be .200+ longer than book seems crazy

Update Hornady actually says 2.400 COAL so I’m
About .230” longer. Bearing service in the neck is great. 2.400 seems too short

Guess I’ll work up looking for velocity. Looks like 3100-3200 is about max (Hornady doesn’t have H4350 22-250 data)
