I like the light feel of a longbow. Recurves seem more powerful at the same draw but they feel blocky and heavier to me. Currently I’m shooting a Tomahawk longbow @ 40 lbs and get pass throughs on white tails so I can’t ask for more than that.

I can't suggest the Toelke Whistler enough. Its light, quiet, accurate and assembled before you can find a dropped limb bolt.
you can string it in the field without worrying about blowing it up, you'll never twist a limb if you fall and it's just dead sexy.View attachment 175095
Mine is 58" and I draw to 29.5 without stacking. Dan had no problem suggesting it. IIRC, he said his 60" was fine to 30+.Wrench
That is a cool looking bow. So Toelke is building that Shrew style short longbow now...at least thats what it looks like, eh? I've gone back and forth on picking up a whip for years...trying to find a used lefty.....
How long is it? Can a long draw guy shoot that bow?
