Long action 6.5prc?

So.. long story short. I got the bug to build a gun for some upcoming rifle hunts, I initially wanted a 7mm bullet and the pic peaked my interest. I ended up ordering a Lone Peak long action since they had them I stock. I have since read some questionable things on the 7prc and have considered just building a 6.5prc and running the 156 Bergers. I know Lone Peak makes a medium action which would be perfect for this but I want the option to spin up another barrel and true long action round.

Any issues running the 6.5 prc 156g in the long action? I plan to run the Hawkins hunter mag setup.

I’ve done a couple long action 6.5 prcs with no issues. If you reload you could have the smith throat your gun long and you’ll take up some more mag spaxe loading the bullets longer.
I don’t mean to hijack but I’m looking to run a long action 6.5 prc in a mdt hnt26 chassis. Any recommendations on which magazines to use?

If you are going to go with a long action, why not use the 280AI or something similar (fast twist 270) if you don't want to go with the 7PRC?

I have a 6.5PRC. It is very limited if I want to shoot heavier projectiles and not much faster than my 6.5CM. It has been replaced by the much better 6.8W.

The few oz weight penalty to go from a short action to a long action is justified through the options to rebarrel to any magnum cartridge you may want in the future. Magazine spacers make shorter rounds feed in a long action. No options to feed long rounds in a short action.

How is it not much faster than your cm? With factory ammo you should see 200-300fps more with prc. If you had load you should see 300+ even with the heavier 156bergers
