So I went out this morning and shot my go to hunting rifle. It is a 7mm LRM shooting a 180 VLD at 3035.

This is a 3 shot group at 640 and it measures just under 3.5". This gun usually shoots about 1/2 to 3/4 MOA, but sometimes I don't shoot it that well.

Mike I didn't even know about long range forum. I just posted in the easiest. But if the Moderator wants to move it, it is all ok by me.

Where are you shooting that yardage? Sac Valley or up in the hills. I was shooting my 6.8 last week when a Forrest Service guy stop me and told me I am not allowed to shoot at extended ranges. I told him he was wrong and miss informed. He said that because it was longer than the average shooting range he will not allow it. Said i was a reckless shooter. Had him look at the target and all shots were on target. He didn't care. So not want to get into a pissing match. I picked up my brass and went home. I am not aware of any new rules that pertain to shooting distance?!?!?!

Nice group by the way.

I was shooting up near Drum Forebay off Interstate 80. I shoot under the power lines that cut through the timber. I could stretch it to a 1000, but you need someone with you to be a spotter as a service road is in the area. I like this area as it is perfect elevation and temperature for my turret. I think the Forrest Service buy is full of $hit. I don't know anywhere it says that certain distances in and by themselves is reckless.

I will shoot out at Sac Valley when we are out there for work ranges, but we only go out there about once or twice a year.

I would've told the tree cop to go pound sand but then I'm a cantankerous sort.
There is, to my knowledge, no limitation, on how far, or close, you can shoot. The question then becomes one of, "Is it safe?" Personally I view it as another attempt by the administration to impede gun ownership and use. Lots of tree hugging, college educated, know it all, libtards now work for what used to be good agencies.
Nice shooting too.

You didn't Joel, it is doing everything it supposed to. I just got the G7 rangefinder and it is also superb. Makes for a deadly combination.

Here is my 800 yard group shot with the same gun. It's a true shooter and Gunwerks knows how to build them right.
