I had actually read that somewhere. The only think I don’t like is have to cook it so thoroughly to avoid the risk of trichinosis. I always overdo it to avoid the risk.

Yep, I'd be doing the same, just as I do with ferral pig.

Cougar is incredible meat. I've only eaten it twice, and the first time it was definitely undercooked. Thank God we didn't get sick!
