Lil roksliders and fng’s

Raise your hand if you’ve been threatened by admins about being kicked as you smartassed one too many times, I assume a FNG reported me.
Never been threatened with getting kicked, but I did get a post deleted for being in poor taste. There’s Nothin’ more American than a trip to the principals office….

What about all the questions that have absolutely nothing to do with hunting, fishing trapping ? Why do folks ask these questions on an outdoors sporting forum. And then it gets pages of responses. I just don't get that

It's good practice to send any potential post to @fngTony for approval/denial before you actually post it. The mod team as a whole greatly appreciates your cooperation.

Amen. I also think 10 is too low of a bar. 50-100 would be my vote, it would also make people actually participate in the forum for more than the random classified ad here and there. It’s one thing to BS 10 posts, completely different when than number jumps 10x.
Wouldn’t raising the post minimum to 50-100 just worsen the spam/low quality post problem that OP is talking about? I could hop on ChatGPT and have it crank out 100 spam posts or replies in 5 minutes.

Theoretically you’re correct, but my guess is doing that would get you banned. I personally wish anyone caught doing nothing but BS posts after they join would get a time out, but I’m not in charge.

Besides, what’s wrong with joining rokslide to ACTUALLY participate? People act like the minimum post count is prohibitive in some way, but IMO, if someone is only on rokslide for the classifieds (typical people who complain about the minimum post rule), and they’ve been a member for 8 years with 7 posts, that person is providing less than zero value to the forum, and only taking without actually giving anything in return.

I personally don’t have much to contribute. I’ve been reading these forums for several years and I have no idea how old this account is. But, I’m a punk in his mid 20’s who doesn’t have enough money to give much input on gear reviews/comparisons. Although I’ve been hunting my whole life i don’t necessarily feel like I have enough life/hunting experience to give valuable input on many of the hunting forums. So I spend the vast majority of my time reading and learning instead of talking out of my ass.

I’m not griping about the 10 post minimum, sure it’s a mild inconvenience but I understand the reasoning behind it. I just think raising the minimum further would be onerous without much of a perceived benefit.
