Lightweight wind vest

I am looking for a super lightweight, stretchy best that will block the wind. I always have an unlined rag wool sweater because over light baselayer it works over such a wide temp range. That said I would like to have a super lightweight vest to block the wind.

I have a North Face nimble jacket for casual wear that is the material I'm thinking of: single layer, lots of stretch, DWR coating.

Can be camo or earth tone.

I added a Sitka mountain vest to my kit last year. Liked and used it more than I thought I would.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping to spend less than the mountain vest but most of my camo right now is Sitka so I'm sure it's worth it!

Look for a jetstream lite vest. Basically the same as the Mountain vest, but you can find them used for a pretty decent price. They are extremely light, but do a good job keeping your core warm.

I picked up a mountain vest for $85 new from macks Prairie wings. I run hot. I ditched my heavyweight fleece mid layer and got a kuiu Pelton 97. Those two combing weighed less than my heavyweight fleece. Gives me more versatile options for no weight penalty

I do that with my Sitka mountain vest and Core LW hoody, I like that system also on warmer days.

Finding those deals typically doesn't happen to me... Your should be proud of that one!

Sounds like the mountain vest is pretty unique in the market. I'll keep my eye out for deals.

Anything out there from non-hunting brands? Preferably mountain hardware or another brand that doesn't have an anti-hunting agenda.
