input? specifically looking at the poseidon or chugach nz. is the poseidon quiet enough for bowhunting? how does the material noise compare to the chugach nz? while impressed with kuiu thus far i am concerned about the chugach's noise. i've no experience with either and have read several times that it is on the loud side.... alternatively, the lack of ventilation and breathability of the poseidon has me worried. i like to move around and am not a fan of the greenhouse feel. i don't really experience torrential downpour, but it can get pissy and super windy. softshell is falling short in prolonged exposure to said elements.

Don't know a thing about either of those names, but I like my Russell APX and Gamehide shells.
The Gamehide is a little heavier but quieter through.
My Russell stuff (Cyclone) is really light but doesn't breathe well at all, however it doesn't leak and is extremely windproof. I only wear it when rain hits and shed it afterward. It's kinda like the Sitka stuff, real smooth inside, so I turn it inside out and just shake the condensation off between showers. I wear it over a long sleeve Polartec fleece 1/4 zip shirt that I've treated w/ DWR to prevent wicking. When I take off the APX jacket the fleece drys fast in the breeze.
Anyway, works for me.

the chacuch is not quiet. but neither am i beotching and moaning because i am wet and cold. it wads down really tight. i didnt buy the pants..i got some prototype ones from patagonia..almost foilage in color. they rip off like basketball warmup pants. so cool! super watertight. they were developed for our military..dont know if they will get put into production.

Chugach is a little quieter than Poseidon. I got both and kept the chugach . The kuiu guide jacket is quite quiet but obviously not pure rain gear. I use the guide jacket and keep the chugach nx set in the longhunter lid.

I have the Chugach and Yukon gear. Previously I used Sitka Downpour. Although no hard shell is going to be as quiet as your average soft shell material, it shouldn't make much of a difference in the rain. If you only plan to wear your hardshell as a rain/wind blocker you should not have a whole lot to worry about.

The Chucagh jacket is a little noisy but manageable. The pants are a bit more problematic if it is not raining. A pair of gaiters will quieten them up some.
