I completely agree. Its a giant pain in the ass. Nothing worse than when one starts to slip after you tightened it.I prefer a mechanical notch over the twist locks for sure
Twist locks take longer to use, and are easy to undertighten in a hurry
Yeah, not ideal. I will say Im still sticking with the Tricers due to its versatility and light weight thoughI completely agree. Its a giant pain in the ass. Nothing worse than when one starts to slip after you tightened it.
I’ve had a gen 1 hatch, mdt mountain, and tricer…. I will be going back to the hatch and getting the gen 2 now.How is everyone feeling about the twist lock on the MTN, Tricer, Gunwerks? I had it on my original Spartan legs and I hated it. I ended up upgrading to the Hunt tac pro legs.
The Hatch Outwest & MDT Double Pull notched seem to be so much more reliable.
I was looking at the Gen 2 today. The leg design with the micro adjust is pretty slick. The pricing isnt awful when compared to a lot of the bipods.I’ve had a gen 1 hatch, mdt mountain, and tricer…. I will be going back to the hatch and getting the gen 2 now.
Exactly. I can’t find much info it, but I’m going to try the 3rd leg to turn it into a tripod as well for glassing from. I use the sig Zulu IS binos so I don’t use a tripod much anyway.I was looking at the Gen 2 today. The leg design with the micro adjust is pretty slick. I am not sure 6-8 ounces is a huge deal with the better design compared to tricer or MTN
