Lightest Water System so far...

I use a titanium grayl cup.

It's my cup, my cooking pot and my filter. We always try to give things at least 2 purposes and that one has 3. I can't imagine going back to a bladder full time. I just carry a spare nalgene. I also filter faster than any of my hunting partners.
I’ve been considering the Grayl with TI.
Any downsides besides weight?
Do you carry a mil bank bag?

I’m not sure what a mil bank bag even is. Lol. Sorry. So no I don’t.

The grayl is 20.125 oz.
Comparable (but smaller) pots are 13-15 oz.
A 2L bladder is 10.5 ~ oz.
A katydin pocket filter is 19 oz.

20 oz for the grayl vs close to 35 oz to all the things it replaced. I don’t see it as any form of a downside. If I had to pick one out I’d say the limited capacity to carry a larger quantity of water. To combat that I always filter a liter into my Nalgene and then filter my grayl full. I keep the grayl as back up water and drink off my nalgene. Easy peasy.

20.125oz for the Grayl that carries 24oz of water.

My water and cooking pot setup:
Katadyn BeFree 1.2oz
Smartwater 1L w/ sports cap 1.4oz
Katadyn BeFree 0.7L bottle 0.8oz
FireMaple Petrel pot (w/ upgrades) 5.7oz

Total weight = 9.1oz

And my setup is much easier to use. I've owned a Grayl in the past and hated it. It takes way too much pressure to filter IMO.

And if you are carrying a separate water bottle, then it definitely doesn't make sense.

Thats a solid light weight system!

Solid system! I'm glad you like it. The Grayl has been phenomenal for me. I'm glad we have these options.
