I have an original light weight hunter Sako M995 TRG-S in 338 Lapua Mag.
Always wanted a TRG 42 rig, haven't we all?
Anyway, this thing is VERY harsh to shoot.
Compared to a Serbu 50 BMG single shot, this one hurts.
The Serbu is more of a push, not so bad.

Are there any upgrade options for this rifle?
I'd like a MUCH better stock, and a heavier barrel.
Is there anyone who performs this work on an old rig?

Heh, I've had people leave with bloody eye rings from the scope hitting them.
Some hard heads would not wear the big ass recoil pad I had.
They were warned...

UPDATE:
I've since changed the super light weight skinny stock for a KRG Whiskey-3 chassis.
More weight, and a much wider stock butt.
I like it.

Now I have found a competent 'smith with a 1:93 twist heavy barrel and a brake,
and will change out the super light weight skinny barrel.

This is going to rock!

Interested to see how this turns out...I've got one that just arrived at LRI this morning to have a rail added and brake installed. It will be going into a W3 chassis that I converted into a Bravo by trading rear ends with someone...then the fun begins!

What functions/features does the KRG Bravo rear add?
I thought the bravo chassis was the lighter weight of the two?

Do you have a muzzle brake on that M995 .338 Lapua? Does it still kick super hard, regardless?

I have one coming in to my gunshop on Monday, I'm super curious about anything else you have to share about it.

Did you get your scope mount installed? Would love to see what it looks like as I'm thinking of ditching the dovetail rings for a mount.
I had PVA (LRI will do it as well) rebarrel my 270 Weatherby to 26" 300 WM and I've fit it into Manners EH1 with McMillan's botoom metal. It's the one in the back300wm.jpg

Sorry for the delayed reply--missed this while I was out hunting. I actually just got an update from LRI earlier in the week and a photo of the rail installed:
