Anyone have a great way of putting a lid on a Pintler? I'm looking to add a lid for overnight trips, and would love some input if you've already done this. Not that it really matters, but it's for my sister as I actually run an Exo.

Have a MR lid for my Pintler. Clips right in and also doubles as a pack. Comes with all clips. PM me if you have other questions.

Are you using the daypack lid? Sorry for all the Q’s, just in the same boat as OP, but I got the old pintler on sale. Would really like some more capacity.

I'm very happy with the result. Exo had a Coyote lid laying around, and I got two sets of lid straps. Easy peasy.

Wanted to attach the lid from my marshall bag to pintler (2019 and older generation). Ordered various repair buckles online and it worked pretty well. Female surface mount went on frame sleeve and male repair buckle went on highest daisy chain loop.IMG_20210226_145127180.jpgIMG_20210226_145148077.jpgIMG_20210226_145233025_HDR.jpgIMG_20210226_145504020.jpg

Please take a picture of the attachment points of this set up so we can see the whole thing. I don’t have a Pintler but have a Terraframe 50 which is essentially the same thing only bigger. I also can take the lid off my MR Glacier but would need to swap my buckles to accomplish this.

I use the lid off a Dana Designs pack on my Pintler. It has straps sewn into it, so I put a mating fastex buckle on them to make an adjustable loop that goes around the top of the frame, captured below the load lifter straps that run the your shoulders. Then I secure it down with the Pintler top straps. I could add some independent straps to snug it down but it hasn't been necessary. I usually use the added lid to hold overflow food that can be left hanging in a tree at a spike camp.

Hope these help! I recommend using a hot nail to make the holes for the surface mount buckle so it cleanly melts through the fabric and doesn't cause unraveling.View attachment 268963

Thanks so much for the pics and parts list. I ordered them for my Terraframe 50 and got them today. I plan on doing this over the weekend!

Nice setup! May I ask where did you buy these buckles?

I may find them useful for an older MR SATL. Thanks
