looking for some input on this scope. How is the adjustment range? I am looking to buy a rifle with a vintage Paul Jaeger side mount and am concerned having plenty of adjustment. You never know what to encounter with these old mounting systems, but the rifle (pre Model 70) is too nice to pass up on for the price.
Any other issues with this series?

There's not much Leupold love on RS. You might get more answers if you try it on 24hrcampfire.

I have the Freedom 2-7 rimfire on a bolt 22LR. The glass is nice, weight is nice, turrets are plastic, and adjustments not very tactile. Better than vintage VX2 friction adjust, but overall not inspiring confidence. I would jump to the VX3 line 100% over VX-Freedom. I don't have long term durability, and for the price it's probably a pretty good scope, but for me Leupold starts at the VX3. I'll keep the rimfire version for when the kids are old enough to shoot 22LR.

I had a VX Freedom for a few weeks. Wouldn't maintain zero. I certainly wouldn't buy another one.

I wouldn't hesitate on buying a Leupold. Excellent CS and scope quality from my experiences!

An older Leupold is preferred. I have a VX-2 that holds zero like no tomorrow.

I also have been buying Burris and Bushnell.

I have a leupold from 20+ years ago and just recently when I was going to put it on another rifle heard a rattle inside. Shipped it back to leupold and they fixed it up. New lens, internals, etc. Basically, a new scope!

I have a Freedom series 2-7 scope. Never had adjustment issues with it. Been on several rifles, most recently on a Ruger 77 International. Decent eye relief, lightweight and compact. Recently sold several scopes on EBay, but kept that one. Thinking about using it on a 6.8 spc Contender carbine next. Here is a pic of the scope on the Ruger.
