Have a lot of Cabela’s points saved up and looking to update scope. Looking at 4x24x52. Just wondering thoughts from anyone? I’ve got Leupold scopes on other rifles which I really like. Spendy scope so seeing if anyone has thoughts on better glass? Thanks

Also. Just want best of the best. The only factor I have would be weight. Do not want a heavy scope. Would go on Sako 300 short mag

Be careful with that one if weight is a concern, weight of 34mm rings and a rail can add up vs some 30mm Talleys.

I’ve got the 3-18 x50. It’s okay. I’m not sure I’d do it again. I find the glass is good and the reticle is nice. But it doesn’t hold zero very well and the illuminated red fire dot in the center of the reticle is sometimes finicky. I think I’d look at Meopta or Maven next time. Generally, I love leupold. Just am not super happy with this scope.

I just got that exact one earlier this year. It's been great so far. It responded perfectly while sighting in and out to 1k on steel. Time will tell how it does on the long hall after a trip to Alaska with it this fall.

I've got the VX5HD and it has great glass and has held zero great. Used it last fall and getting ready to head to Texas for some exotics. I have it on a 280 Ackley in the Cooper Backcountry. Great scope and no complaints so far.

Do you dial or use the reticle/inches for hold over? If you dial I’d stay away from Leupold anything.

If you just need to the scope for the glass and reticle quality it should be fine for you. I would not trust a Leupold in the field for dialing after my experiences with VX-5 and VX-6.
