So I’ve been eyeing these scopes for a while. I love my Leupold scopes. Would this be “too much” of a scope for a 7-08 that will probably only shoot out to 300 yards. I’m just looking for something with clear glass and enough “zoom” capabilities on the longer shots. What’s your thoughts?

It is great glass in a lightweight robust package. It would be great for that.

My thoughts might not mean as much since I’m listing it but I completely agree with nevadamike. I’ve got several vx-3’s and this one edges them all by a little bit. I’m sure a 14x vx3 would work just fine for your needs but I think the low light performance of this one is better.
