Seller only accepts PayPal F&F, I purchased the scope and paid the PayPal fees so he got his total asking price. He refunded me my money because I didn't send it friends and family. Buyer beware , too many scammers out there

Im not a scammer and I explained to you why I only accept F&F or check/money order. There are plenty of Leupolds out there if you dont like my forms of payment you should be able to find another. I have sold several (Im counting 18 high end optics I have posted in my history since 2016) on this forum and 24hourcampfire and accurate reloading forums with the same screen name.

I understand being diligent and wanting to protect yourself but you it is a disservice to insinuate I'm a scammer just because you dont like my forms of payment-

Never called you a scammer, all I said was buyer beware, there are alot of scammers out there.
There are too many guys on here, and other forums that have gotten robbed. Don't want to see that happen to anyone.
Maybe you are legit but seems too fishy to any one who has common sense with purchases on line through these forms.
Also you have sold 18 high end optics on these forms but have ZERO feedback, that just doesn't make sense.

Bt8897 is good to go. Purchased a rifle and seperate action from him recently. If he only accepts F&F that’s his choice. I highly doubt PayPal would make good on any gun related dispute anyway and making a claim is a great way to get both accounts locked.

I don’t disagree with your reasoning SavedbyGrace, if you feel uncomfortable with the transaction you shouldn’t do it. I also understand your wanting to keep this forum a safe place and warn people of possib;e issues. My issue was I told you how I accept payment and you just decided you would pay how you wanted and also it netted me less than the price. I just feel that if you had concerns we could have worked It out over pm’s before doing it publicly.

No bad feelings, just thought it could have been handled differently.

For everyone else, my reasoning for only accepting f&f or check/money order is because I was screwed out of $3800 by pay pal several years ago. Sold an item to a member on a different site ( he had over 100 positive feedback) he decided he didnt want it and asked to return. I accepted his return , which was sent with signature confirmation. I opened the box which was empty. Pay pal said he had proof of return so I was out of luck

Well I just didnt want anyone getting ripped off. I am not sure why you are saying I gave you less than asking price, I added the 3% PayPal fee to the $265.
The rules for classifieds on here state that PayPal f&f is to be used for friends and family only As you can see on the list of classifieds rules #13
I am sorry you got ripped off with the rolex watch, but paypal service is there to also protect the buyer. And since you have zero feedback, it looks very similar to many of the scammers on these sites " which there has been many lately "
Maybe ask someone of your buyers to give you some feedback, and that would help tremendously for future sales.
Not mad, but don't want any one getting hurt, and also there have been issues with accounts getting hacked too. I think you can't be too safe these days.

No worries. Thanks for pointing out the classified rules, I didnt know that and I should have. LIke I said I understand your concerns they were valid, I just wish we had a chance to work them out privately .

I posted a WTB for a pair of Swarovski 8x42 SLC HD here recently and got two responses from people who had exactly what I was looking for, sent pictures etc at a good price. Funny thing is they both used the same pics.
There are a lot of scammers out there and you cant be too careful
