I been hunting a 308 with a vx6hd 2-12x42, duplex fire dot. I really like it for the distances I would shoot at 300-350 yards.
I’m starting a new 7RM build for longer range elk, out to 500 yards or so.
I was thinking of getting the Vx6hd 3-18x44, illuminated TMOA.
Looking to see who likes or dislikes hunting with that reticle or do you prefer the duplex fire dot for the longer distances.

The TMOA is a very nice reticle. It is not too busy and acts like a duplex in most scenarios, but has hash marks if needed.

It also features a small open spot at point of aim. I like it for precise aiming.

Another reticle I really like is the Windplex on the VX5HD.

If you are going to be shooting long range, it’s nice to have a reference on the stadia to adjust for wind holds. I also have firedot duplex reticles and they are really nice for hunting.
