I am in the market for a new range finder and trying to figure out which one I should go with, the Leupold RX-1200i or either of the Leica's 1000r or 1600b? I do both archery and rifle hunting. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

The Leupold works great for both, but will have a more limited range so it's not good if you want to hunt or shoot longer ranges. The Leica is fast, accurate, with a great max range, but it doesn't do angle compensation below 100 yds, so it isn't great for archery.

Another great option if you want one to do it all, is the Sig Kilo 2000. In my testing, it has been just as fast as the Leica with a very impressive reach. It will also give you angle comp below 5 yds for archery.

Unless they crap out and die after a few years in the field (tough to prove since they're so new) the Sig Kilo 2000 is really the only rangefinder to consider for under $1k. It will out range the Leica and will give angle compensation at archery ranges which the Leica does not. The glass in the Leica is better but the glass in the Sig is more than adequate. If my Leica died tomorrow it would be replaced by a Sig Kilo the same day.
