New To long range rifle scopes I am trying to figure out what reticle would best suit my needs. Narrowed down between the TMR and the pr 1moa. Plan is for it to be on a 300 Weatherby and hunting western states. Any experience and opinions appreciated! Thanks!

Is the glass on that Mark 5HD comparable to VX5/VX6HD glass?

Also how is the reticle in low light on low power since it’s FFP?

The Mark 5HD, VX5HD, and VX6HD all utilize the same glass and same coatings. I did a factory tour and had the same concerns but it’s exactly the he same. Also, the FFP does surprisingly well on low power in timber or twilight. The illuminated reticle will cure any worries if you can swing the extra $$$

Looking at the Loopy specs, the fine lines on the TMR are 0.05 mils thick and PR-1 fine lines are 0.15 MOA. Meaning, on a 100 yard target the TMR would cover .180" while the PR-1 would cover .157", making the TMR the ever so slightly more bold reticle correct? I have a TMR 3.6-18 on order, hoping I don't regret going with the non-illuminated version. Never had anywhere close to an issue seeing the reticle in my SWFA at low light, though for comparison the thin lines on it are 0.07 mils thick, or .252" on a 100 yard target.

Sorry to resurrect this oldie, but I am looking at both of these right now. How did you guys fair out for a hunting rig with either of these reticles ? On low power does the reticle remain edge to edge? I had a S&B klassik P3L on order but OP canceled it and their website now says that S&B discontinued it. Trying to find something similar to the Klassik for a new build. I'll be in the trees mostly but there could be times where I may need to stretch things to 5 hundo in the ag. I have been looking at the reticles of all the popular names for the last week or so. Really just want reliable exposed turret and a plex with wind holds. Will be going illum on either one of these. Thanks

I would tell you in my experience with the pr1 or pr2 reticles in mills that it makes it really hard to use anything else. For me personally. Clarity at all ranges and the parallax adjustment is super solid. Get illumination. For darker timber. To my eyes I found issues with alot of other ffp scopes when magnified all the way down seeing the reticle clearly in scope in darker timber options.

I should have clarified in my original post , I will be going with mil based reticle . I agree it is just much easier , hence the reason I chose the Klassik in the first place. .1 , ffp is my preference as well.
