Leupold BX4 Pro Guide HD

Does anyone have real world experience with these? Looks like they recently came out and I cant seem to find many reviews.

Are these the same as the Mohave pro guide HD? If so I have a pair and I love them. Just recently several people that had Bino's around the same price range all commented on how much nicer the class was through my Mohave HD's. I like them for whatever reason much better than the vortex...

Yes, From what I can tell these are the new version bx-3 Mojave Pro Guide.

The ergonomics are a little better on he BX4 version, optically, I cannot tell a difference between the new pro guides and the old. I would get the old version on sale, or jump up to the $1k range.

Thanks for the replies. I have indecision paralysis from researching to much on this site. Ha! I've always been a Leupold scope fan growing up. I realistically could probably move up the the 1K range, but like everyone else Im also looking for best bang for the buck. At some point there is diminishing returns. To my inexperienced eyes, I just don't know where that its.

I have a pair of 10x42 that I used this season. They fit my face well and don't let in too much light from the sides. I ran them off a tripod which made a huge difference. Quite a step up from my old BX2's. For the price I think they are good. There is a good sweet spot when looking through and the image is pretty good out toward the edges. I like how light they are, I don't notice them much at all in my ACG harness. For my eyes they are good out to about a mile or a bit more when conditions are right. The tripod helps a lot in that aspect. I can see animals much further, but I lose the details. I looked through a lot of binos in that price range, and the BX4'S fit me the best for the image quality. I also really liked how the vortex fit, but couldn't get past the green tint. I would like to see them next to the Maven C1, as them seem to be getting some good reviews too.

I ended up getting some 10x42s and they are noticeably better than the pro guide version they replaced in the twilight hours. To me, both models leave the C1s in the dust. I also had some Maven B2s this season, and I kept the Leupolds because they are barely bested by the B2s. My only quibbles after a season with the Leupolds are that the eye pieces are textured and poke he bridge of my nose, and the front bridge is flush with the objectives so I can't wrap my bungee harness around the front of the barrel.

I'm trying to decide if I'd be happy with the BX-4 or if I NEED to step up to the Zeiss Conquest HD/Vortex Razor HD price range. I tried to convince my local Cabelas staff to let me take all three outside at dusk, which they declined. All the glass looked great inside the store.........

I've had the BX-4 and the razor hd side by side and didn't find the razors to be any better. For the price difference, I kept the BX-4s. Great glass especially at the sale prices.

I tried these at a Cabela's a month or so ago. I normally think of Leupold as the best bang for the buck, so was really hoping these would blow me away as their top end 10x42 for 2017. I was disappointed. Chromatic aberration was TERRIBLE. and I mean terrible in comparison to glass at the same and lower price point. If you weren't looking at any skylines maybe they'd be great, but that's all too common in hunting scenarios. Be interesting to see what the new bx5 in 10x42 are like. Though from what I've heard about the Maven c1, will definitely be doing their try before you buy program to see if I can get good (at least toward the center of the image) glass on the cheap, before I spend any real money on anything else.

I've heard that. And it would make sense that I would be particularly sensitive to it, as I've had Lasik. Best gift I ever gave myself, but the way your eyes see drastically contrasting light edges is definitely affected.

Eyes must be different because I sent the C1s back for CA, and have no issues with the Leupolds to the point of choosing them over the B2s after a few weeks of the two side by side in the field.

I'm not saying the c1s will be better. Haven't tried em yet. Just figured for the money they'd be worth a try
