Leupold American Marksman vs VX Freedom

I've been looking for a scope to put on my CVA Accura and was looking into the VX Freedom 3-9 x 40. However now Cabelas has the American Marksman 3-9 x 40 on sale. Wondering if it worth the extra money to go to the Freedom? Has anyone had a chance to compare the two side by side? Is the glass the same and just the controls a little cheaper on the Marksman?

Freedom should be slightly better optically with the lenses used and coatings, but the Marksman has an upgraded reticle with some subtensions.
