Let's See Your Semi-Custom Tikka Builds

Finally ready to go to the range and get her ready for deer season!

6.5 CM with barrel cut to 20”, SWFA gen2 6x scope, Wooden RokStok, UM low rings, PR Precision stainless steel bottom metal, MDT GRND-POD bipod, currently has the OG suppressor with LS Wild cover

Weighs 10# and measures 43.5” long in this configuration. I don’t expect to keep the bipod on it for hunting season, since it adds a pound and will probably be of limited utility.

I haven’t fired her for real yet, but I’ve been trying her out with snap caps. Handles well off hand. Very happy!

How long did that wooden rokstok take from when you ordered?

Well… there happened to be one that someone didn’t want just sitting there when I called to order it on June 25. I had to forgo the sling mounts and it has a very generous amount of free barrel. I consider myself very lucky with the timing.

. The chassis would be about $500, and you could get cheap ultralight components to finish it for less than $100. That is hard to beat.
Which cheap ultralight components do you like for the XLR style chassis? Doing one with a Magpul ctr stock but curious if there's anything better that's light weight and budget friendly

Hogue $20 grip - weighs 1.5oz

KAK $20 Buffer Tube - 3.3oz

Farrow Tech $30 butt - 1.8oz

Then just build up a cheek riser directly on the tube using an old yoga mat or other foam. That would be the lightest and easiest possible setup, but maybe not the most shooter-friendly.

You could also use any other stock compatible with the A2 buffer tube.

This is my first Tikka and also my first suppressed rifle. It’s a 350 Legend T3x compact. Had the stock dipped in Elevated II. Sent the barrel off to Kampfeld to have him add a shoulder and thread it 5/8-24. Suppressor is one of the limited run OCL Hydrogen S in 8.6. I will be getting the barrel cerakoted in Cobalt soon.

I currently have a Vortex Razor LH 1.5-8x32 with Hawkins Featherweight low rings installed as I wanted to keep this setup as lightweight as possible and don’t plan on taking shots over 100yds with it. However, I did not realize how much FOV would be taken up by the can at low magnification. I suppose I’ll get used to it and won’t pay attention to it when shooting at a deer.

I just designed and 3D printed my own stock spacers so I can adjust the LOP to my liking. It’s odd that these compacts don’t come with 1/4” spacers like most compact models. It only comes with the one extension that is ~ 1-1/4”, which makes your only LOP options 12.5” or 13.75” with nothing in between. So I ended up designing my own 1/4” spacers but don’t have them installed at the moment because I want to have my son try hunting with it this season first.

Do you know if their folding adapter be used on any buffertube?
