-lumley arms Arctic bottom metal (I like it a lot)

Barrel was shortened to 18” and threaded for 5/8x24

This is very similar to my 30-06.

How is the recoil? The blacktooth pad seems hard. I haven’t assembled mine yet, debating about keeping the blacktooth or not.

Recoil is great
The pad works really well.
The stock is well designed for recoil

They were sold out forever, I was email I g the owner like once every 2 weeks. They may have a few more. I havnt checked since I got that one.

Updated the 300 WSM (tan) with a different stock and scope. I like it so much, I built another one in 6mm Creedmoor as a trainer/smaller caliber option.

Odd ball question, been researching on doing a 300 WSM similar with a 20” barrel suppressed. I’ve seen some of your other comments running the 175 LRX out of it. What kind of velocity are you getting with hand loads? I’m essentially trying to accomplish the same goal, 600 yards and in with the 300 WSM with copper bullets.

Velocity was pretty good with the 175 LRX - 2988 FPS.

Final load was max charge from the current Barnes data. My chamber is throated for the 215 Berger, so they are loaded a little longer than saami spec. I was at 3005-3012 fps at 67.3 grains, but started seeing occasional pressure signs.

2988 fps (5 shot average H4350 - 67.1 gr)

Yes it’s a kampfeld cut/thread job. I’ve got like 5 6.5 creedmoor loads that all work really well. I’m leaning towards the 140g eldm with h4350, I believe it’s 41.5g. I’ve also got a good load with 124g hammer hunters, 130g accubonds and 150g ABLRs but the 150 might be a bit slow out of this short barrel.

Yes it’s a kampfeld cut/thread job. I’ve got like 5 6.5 creedmoor loads that all work really well. I’m leaning towards the 140g eldm with h4350, I believe it’s 41.5g. I’ve also got a good load with 124g hammer hunters, 130g accubonds and 150g ABLRs but the 150 might be a bit slow out of this short barrel.

Right on. Ive got my hands on some 130 tmks and I’ll likely try those 140eldms as well. Hoping for north of 2650.

I’m hoping for the same. I won’t know for sure for a bit but that’s the goal. If not, I was getting like 2950 with the 124g hammer hunters back when the gun had the 24” barrel, might be able to get 2800fps with those.

Not sure if it's just the angle of the picture but looks like the recoil lug isn't seated all the way since the bottom of barrel isn't parallel with the forend. I know I've done this several times with my bravo. Not sure if it's a thing with the echo.
