Lets see your rifle attached to your Kifaru

Hoping for some pictures of a better way to carry a rifle on kifaru packs. Currently use a grab it to secure it to my DT2. It gets in the way of everything (pockets, lid, etc).

Use the gun bearer.

Gun Bearer - stock barrel attachment on the front for the shoulder strap and a Stone Glacier attachment for the barrel on the back of the harness. Both quick release, the Kifaru is faster but the Stone Glacier keeps it behind my shoulder.

I use the gun bearer when I need to be able to access the gun quickly while hiking. I have a medium pocket attached to the center lower portion of my reckoning as well. Its used for slipping a gun stock in, or my tripod legs. When carrying my rifle back there, I slip the stock into the empty belt pouch, and the barrel goes up behind the guide lid/ guide lid goes over the barrel and cinches down. I then use the straps on the pack to secure the rifle. In that position, it does impede access to the pack, but I'm typically not needing to get in and out of the pack. I utilize the side pockets and guide lid more when I know i am carrying my rifle down the center. I can do the same thing with my spotter and tripod. Spotter stays attached to the tripod, and legs go down into the med belt pouch. Last year I saw an elk and was able to quickly take my pack off and get a few digiscope pics with my phoneskope and iPhone.. I didn't even have to unstrap the spotter from the pack. Worked well in that situation to get a quick set up and pic. Hope that helps to explain it.

I'd love it if kifaru would just make a full covered low profile scabbard for transporting on your pack. I wonder if you wanted to attach an eberlestock scabbard between the kifaru frame and a pack could you ?

I'd love it if kifaru would just make a full covered low profile scabbard for transporting on your pack. I wonder if you wanted to attach an eberlestock scabbard between the kifaru frame and a pack could you ?

I heard on a podcast they have some kind of limited edition pack exclusively thru Extreme outer limits/Moa rifles that has some kind of scabbard.

Aron said the main reason they do not have a scabbard option really is that Eberlestock has a bunch of patents on any way Kifaru would really want to do it.
I think they are waiting for that to expire.

Here is mine, Kifaru Gun Bearer upper and Kuiu lower. My rifle twisted too much in the Kifaru version, the Kuiu one attached on both sides of the lower rather than just in the middle, which holds the rifle straight. This picture is on a Kuiu Pro pack, but I've run the same setup on a Kifaru pack with no issues.
