Let's see those 375's

This is a great thread. I was going to moose hunt with a 223, but now I'm thinking 375 is the way to go. All joking aside, how are they to shoot?

don't be fooled, for boney shoulders like mine, the H&H smartens! Lol. I load mine down a fare bit, 1 grain under minimum book load with 260gr AB’s. My comfortable max range is about 250 yards with mine, so the lighter load is welcoming.

Of course it is, put it to your shoulder and pull the trigger, nothing hard about that.

Finally was able to get some blood on my 375H&H Hopefull to find a few more before seasons out!

I just love this rifle and man can I thread the needle with this thing! Zero meat loss with those neck shots!

How do you like that NXS on 375?
I think I'm going to go with that over the Leupold 2-10 when I get mine back from the smith. Parallax adjustment will be nice since I'm trying to stretch it out a little with 260gr ABs.

What scope mounts are you using? Looks like it just fit. I know that scope doesn't have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to mounting space. I was planning on Talley lightweights if they'll fit. I don't really want to have to put a pic rail on it.

Those are Talley steel split ring lows on Talley bases. I like this set up a lot but am actually debating on selling it to get to a longer barreled 375 or 416

This is a fun thread. This is my 375 Weatherby. Sako L61R action Douglas heavy barrel, custom built by Flaig’s a good while back. I shoot 270gr Barnes LRX at 2850 fps. Had great results in Africa and on whitetail stateside. Thinking about taking it for elk next year over my 300 Wby, it just hits harder and knocks big things down faster. This slug was recovered from the rear ham of a zebra after a quartering on shot.

Thanks for sharing the hunt report and the pictures. I currently, and have been using the Barnes 270 grain TSX in 375 Rugers. I have some of the LRX to load. All reports and the pictures of the few recovered bullets have looked good for the LRX.

Here are my 375HH rifles. The top one is my m70 stainless classic. And the bottom is my Remington 700 xcr2. That Remington has taken lots of animals over the past few years. I’m not even sure if that m70 has ever been fired other than the original owner trying it out with the irons. I’m sort of thinking of trading the m70 for something else.

Good stuff! I was only able to tag the one doe this season. Just didn't have a lot of time to hunt. I do like the rifle and plan on caring it a bunch. Only thing I'm going to change in the near future is the sling. I'm taking it to Newfoundland this fall. I got 3 tags' bear, moose and caribou. I think my 250 gr Sierra load will be ideal.

Curious why you liked the Remy over the M70.

I had a 1.5-5 for years on mine, just sold it and ordered a Nightforce 2.5-10, I'm sure I'll like the NF, but I know I'll miss that Leupold.

Its the 1.5x5 vx5hd, I shoot the rifle very well with the scope. I like low power variables.
