Let's see some traditional harvests!

Cut some hickory staves from behind the house about 20 years ago. Two years ago I got em out and had my hunting buddy build me a self bow. I made up a dozen bamboo arrows with feathers from a turkey I killed and put some Cliff Zwickey broadheads on the end. Took the bow to Canada and killed the this 250 pound sow at 20 yds B3002FE8-0568-415E-B81D-B197A09C1E10.pngTook Canad

I’ve planted, harvested and eaten my own veggies before. Don’t have any pictures though.

I killed some small game with a homemade bow when I was younger. I’d love to find the time to take up traditional archery and take it big game hunting.

No time like the present.

No time like the present.

I was so close last year. I had a full hoyt satori set up and was shooting pretty well, at least coming along pretty well. But then I bought a new house and just didn’t have the time to devote to it that I owe to the animals. I sold it a bought another compound. Maybe next year.

Anybody have a good recipe for birch log?

Actually I missed a longbeard last Saturday. Found my arrow down the hill in the log. First shot at a gobbler in 3 years of trying. This was the only hunt I had where I wasn't trying to get my sons a bird. All 3 of us should've had birds but what a blast trying.
