My wife and I have been planning and saving to ultimately build a getaway cabin on our farm in the Ozarks. We already bow hunt there and fish, we just pull a pop up camper and stay for the weekend. We both want a place to take the kids to enjoy the outdoors between trips to National Parks and the Mountain West.

I am sure there are some great setups amongst Rokslide members. Let’s see some pictures for inspiration.

I think most of us out here in the west go this way. With tags being so hard to draw, buying a piece of property and building a hunting cabin may not be practical as you may not draw the area again for many years.

On our family ranch on the Niobrara in NW Nebraska. The stone portion is from about 1884. Its pretty rustic but we do have a little solar system for lights, fans, etc.

120 years old, 9,000+ ft, inside a Wilderness area with mule deer, ruffed grouse, and blue grouse. That stove will easily max out my thermometer at 99.9°F even when it's 7° outside.

Love it. Keep em coming. I backpack/bivy hunt out West. I know most don't have cabins on big tracts of public, but the cabins posted so far are awesome.
