Lets Debate... AKEK is The Better Hunting Pack System

Which is why I use one @5MilesBack
I had one of their originals, and liked the belt but I didn't find that whole setup to be very comfortable with 100lbs on it. I've had a SG original Krux with a 1-piece belt for about 10 years now. It works pretty well with heavy loads, but the thickness and width of the belt still irritates me. I mean I get it.......most of them are made to "wrap around the hips", but I've always worn my packs with the belt between my ribs and pelvis (i.e. waist) so I can cinch it down tight with zero slipping.

I also have a Bull Pac frame and bag that I've had for probably 20 years. It has a thin belt and no lumbar pad. I've carried 160lbs on that thing before. Great for just hauling, not so great as a hunting pack. It weighs 8.5lbs empty. My SG is under 4lbs.

You can try to prove me wrong and debate all you want, but first hear me out.

I truly believe the AKEK packs are the best on the market. Here’s why:

Best Quick-Release System
It comes with the best quick-release weapon holder on the market, because it works for both a gun AND a bow.

Built-In Organization
These packs have more pockets for organizing than most other packs. If you’re a minimalist, just don’t use them. But if you like your gear dialed, you’ll appreciate the options.

Full Carbon Fiber Curved Frame
The full carbon fiber curved frame offers better support when hauling heavy loads — typically better than traditional stays or rods. When you’re packing out meat, that support matters.

Everything Included
You don’t have to buy accessories separately. It includes hip belt pockets, quick release, rain cover, meat shelf, and more. What you see is what you get.

Modular
The lid turns into a separate pack that you can use alone or mount to the frame for a pack out.

Weather-Resistant Build
Water- and dust-resistant zippers are built into every pack.

True Adjustability
AKEK is the only brand with a belt system that adjusts behind the lumbar as well as in the front. That means a 10-year-old kid and a 40-year-old guy can use the same belt comfortably. We also now offer three different frame sizes so you can really dial in your fit.

Lifetime Warranty
And yes — the lifetime warranty is solid. Everything is honored.

For the Skeptics
• It’s not made in the USA. Correct — it’s made in Vietnam right now. The focus has been quality while keeping the price reasonable. On that note... our USA made berry compliant sample will be done this month.
• You found a brand that is lighter weight? We felt the added features were worth the extra pound. When you’re hauling 70 pounds of meat, you won’t notice the difference. Our pack is still a light weight premium pack system.
• Another brand might do one small thing better. Maybe. But usually if they win in one area, they’re sacrificing somewhere else. AKEK was built to deliver across the board.
• If you used an AKEK pack before and didn't love it... try again! Its got more adjustments and even more padding for comfortability. If it wasn't super comfortable did you use one of the other frame sizes? Did you adjust the lumber padding properly?

In Short
No pack is perfect for everyone, but it’s hard to find another system that brings together THIS many features, this level of comfort, durability, organization, and adjustability — all at this price point. AKEK is tough to beat considering all of this.

If you haven't seen the AKEK pack check it out and watch the short video here showing one of the models: www.akek.com

I’m not here to dig on you guys but I think you missed the mark on the weight and minimalist statements. I want a lighter pack and less features. I still use a K2 5500 that is 1.5 pounds lighter than your 5400. That added weight for features I don’t need is a deal breaker for me. It’s not about the pack outs but the pack in and short scouting trips where I’m trying to cover ground as fast as I can.

If it was me, I'd modify the small bag so it attaches to the side of the frame at the lower end of the bag. That frees up the the two straps at the btm of the frame so they can be used as lash straps for a coat/pad/whatever. You'd then have a day pack setup with just the small bag and meat packing ability with the included meat shelf.

Thanks for the feedback as always!!

"The Big Three"...Try out a Seek Outside made in Colorado pack. The big three idea is pretty limiting.
The Seek outside backpacks are definitely up there with the top manufacturers. For wet conditions or when I want a lighter pack, I pick SO. For really heavy or awkward loads, I use Kifaru.

Thanks again for all the feedback guys!

We know coming on here again like this is basically begging people to slap us back down and thats okay!

We have worked with several here on RS in the past to fix issues and come out with new features so thank you again for all the feedback and criticism!!

Claiming we are the best can indeed come across as a cars salesman vibe to some I get it! As a company we still stand by the claim! (again we have no intent on bashing any other company as we don't work that way. Lots of good packs on the market of course).
Truth is... 90% of our sales come from the product speaking for its self already and that will continue to be the case regardless of this thread.

Our hope is... some will give AKEK a try before throwing it under a bus. We offer free trials and returns to anyone because we want the product to speak!

Fact is ... Most if not all haters have not tried the new pack system.... Thanks to all the feedback on RS we have created a good product! If you ever had a sour taste in your mouth we are sorry for that!

In time.... more users will talk about it, but until then... we ENCOURAGE people to compare side by side and at least consider all the points made at the beginning of this thread.
When did the new frame come out? Mine is a few years old. I like it well for the price and find it fairly comfortable although it doesn't have adjustable lumbar.

What comes with the pack is impressive.

Anyone have any experience with their smaller frame pack? 34 yo woman here looking to upgrade from my Amazon Special. Don't see a lot of reviews on their packs from women. So far the lead contender is MR just because of the amount of reviews I can find. Would love to have a kifaru but not in a position to drop that kind of money on a pack atm.

@AKEK firstly, your focus on “haters” comes off as deeply unserious. You’re dividing people between supporters and haters? That is it?

Secondly - leading with accessories/weapons carry is also a tripping point. What’s your priority? Explain the design. Pro tip - maybe start with load carry……having used both, I disagree a carbon sheet is better for load hauling - so convince me why yours is better. Better yet - have someone that’s used it, and doesn’t market it, convince me via organic posts/use.

I concur on “marketing platform” comments - I don’t need a copy pasted curated list. I need pictures and evidence from real use. You haven’t earned my trust here.

What has been your testing program? Tell me about # of models, people, timeline, and development. WHY is it designed the way it is?

I can appreciate the idea you’re getting flamed no matter what - the approach here is like putting a fan on the fire though. Kinda like Forloh dropping into threads just to copy/paste their product pages and marketing text as a “response” - doesn’t help.

Well, I tried to look at packs on your website, but it's slow AF. Might see what's up there.

I found it on Amazon on though. Seems like a tough sell at that price point, IMO. And the product photos? Did y'all really design it to pack meat that far out? Do people do that?

I haven’t seen any other pics posted, so here's a few.91NkMKM4Z7L._AC_UY1000_.jpg81j7peJcQoL._AC_UY1000_.jpg

Side pockets openings look huge, like shit will just fall out? Hip belt doesn't appear substantial enough to handle it own weight.

Really wanted to try one of these packs. However I need the large belt. Unlike ever other pack company. Akek does not just swap the belt needed. You buy the pack with standard belt THEN you have to purchase the larger belt?? That's a deal breaker.

All I can say is that is a very tall claim. I would like you guys to gain traction and become a reputation for quality packs, but it’s a tough road ahead to prove yourself, because you have some very strong competition, companies like exo with unbeatable customer service and very extensive testing on a consistently improving product, it’s a very tall order to hang with well established companies like them, IA, stone, etc

And none of them ever lambasted people with grandiose claims. They just put out good products, got them into people’s hands, and built a reputation based on experience.

I think I will wait for Akek and MRC to team up to offer a combination deal that includes an Akek pack that delivers across the board and a Marshall rifle that has an ultra-accurate barrel (100-10X in the early promotional material).

How about this - send me a complimentary AKEK pack to test, and I’ll post a side by side comparison to my Kifaru, which works but I don’t love like I thought I would.

I have the original Akek pack, I got free through Akek, here on Rokslide, on a giveaway if the winner promised to review. So my review is on here somewhere. The particular pack and frame I have are the original. It is by far my favorite day hunting pack, because of the meatshelf, volume. Weight... in short it is still an awesome pack despite being old. Considering it's designed to be a day pack, it does everything I want from it. However, typically I pack in, and it simply does not have the volume for multi-day trips. I wish Akek made a 7000 ci pack. At least the last time I checked, they did not.

I have a Stone Glacier, a few Kifaru, and some other not so known brands. I prefer the Stone Glacier for going lighter Weight. The Kifaru is much more heavy duty, and handles heavy weight best. However, based on my use, the Akek does very well with heavy Wright. I just can't compair evenly because the Akeks limited volume (due to the model I have) won't hold all my gear for a weeks long hunt. My inclination is Akek will hold it's own.

@AKEK
Now, to blowing your own horn, I get it, you want to sell and promote your product. But that approach offends many people unless it's coming from a source they trust, typically someone not being sponsored, nor the company itself. I can say for myself, There was, still is I think, a company that "blows all the others off the mountian" that I was offended from the obscenely bloated claim. I refuse to by anything from them because of it. My advice to Akek, is continue the random giveaway for an honest review, from people here and elsewhere, that have no sponsor affilations at all, so we belive we are getting an independent honest and objective review. Or simply chose from those active here with solid reputations, and no affiliations other than forum members. I think that will serve you better. You're in a very competitive market, where there are a few really great choices, a bunch of average choices, and numerous poor choices. The source the review comes from is paramount with the active members here.

Lastly, once again, I continue to love the Akek pack I have, and I would not hesitate chosing Akek if the model checked all the boxes of what I wanted it for. I hope Akek continues to be a successful option.
