Lets Debate... AKEK is The Better Hunting Pack System

What does your pack look and perform like with two elks fronts in it, or a whole whitetail deer?

I’ve done that with 2 of the big 3, and they both worked well. I’ve carried out whole whitetails with the other of the big 3 that didn’t get elk quarters to ride in it. One of them does it a little better than all the others and that’s the one I still own.

The link you sent with a deer quarter (maybe) in the video, or a skull capped bull doesn’t really do a good job of showing what your pack will do with a 150+ pound load. You get some pictures, videos, and unbiased reviews of your pack doing that and we might be talking.

Which one of the big 3 are you still using? Got a kifaru, thinking about trying out a k4 in the future.

The 25" frame height would be a little short for me, though it probably works well for most. The website says it's one size fits all. OP's post says there are multiple frame sizes but I didn't see how to order a different size online.

I'm skeptical about the hip belt as well but I haven't used it so I'm just speculating here. It just seems to me as Akek says, if you win in one area, you're sacrificing in another. That hip belt may be adaptive to a wide range of bodies (win?), but I have to imagine you give up some of the comfort and non slip of a belt designed to fit a more targeted body size and then offer multiple sizes to make sure most users are covered. I also noticed in the video about how to remove the hip belt pockets that the pockets Velcro around the inside of the hip belt. That seems like it would take away from the comfort of the hip belt quite a bit over hours of wearing the pack.

One of my hunting partners had your pack new on last years hunt. For the cost there are so many great features and it looks pretty good as well. But once it was loaded and fit it was just a bad design. The bag moved side to side an ungodly amount and the load lifters looked like they were from Walmart.

I know you’re trying to create the best option for the price and you might be the best for entry level packs. But compared to a SG or Exo there is no touching their fit. My buddy is trying to get an Exo as soon as he can, but as it’s expensive he is sticking with the AKEK. I don’t think you claiming to be the best pack is the best way to get people to buy your pack especially on Rokslide.

This kind of rhetoric is why I wouldn’t even consider an AKEK. I have never heard any of the other makers be so self aggrandizing. A little humility goes a long way and when you have folks like EXO who don’t slap their own backs while putting out a phenomenal product, it speaks volumes.

Oh yeah, and that USA thing.

Appreciate the debate and feedback guys! To further answer some of your questions and thoughts.

Every brand says they are the best in ads and marketing... even if the product also speaks for its self. Saying a brand should do otherwise is like saying Ford should stop doing commercials claiming they are the best.
On that note we have sold 1000s of packs now... and many guides and outfitters like our pack more than the big 3. Most of them aren't here on RS but a few are.

All belts come with a lumber pad.... That being said if you don't like the lumbar then ALL layers of the pad can be taken out so it's flat and basically empty and gone.

We have several size bags with nalgien holders on the sides. 5400 is our biggest but in the future we'll have bigger sizes (so yes this is a downside for sure to those needing something bigger).

Jim, I'm sorry you and your buddy didn't have a comfortable fit on the one you tried... it shouldn't move around if it was adjusted properly. We should probably come out with more videos on showing how to adjust it better! On that note our newer systems now have bigger straps for the meat.

Our default frame is 25in tall but we have a new longer frame in stock for taller guys... just shoot us a message.

Some people don't know this but the foam in the lumber pad has 7 layers of thickness that can be removed or adjusted (as mentioned above). It's extra thick on purpose so some people find it uncomfortable right out of the box.

We have worked with several RS members over the years to make our bag what it is today... i'll wager that no pack company has made more changes to a pack setup over a 5 yr span than AKEK has... this shows we are constantly listening to feedback and much of that is credited to guys here on RS so THANK YOU GUYS... this forum is awesome for that!!

In short... even though our statement in this forum is bold we are humble at our core. We have been slapped on RS before and that was good for us ;) We try our best to never say bad things about another brand... yes we debate we are the best overall but that doesn't mean other brands aren't good.
AKEK would have been crushed yrs ago in this saturated market if we didn't have something different to offer... and after thousands of packs sold now I promise that difference isn't junk! (The first part of this thread states what those differences are).
Sure some people might always hate AKEK but thats okay... come say hi to us sometime and you'll see we are some guys that are friendly, family oriented and love hunting just like you guys!

Do you offer a one piece pack belt without lumbar pads?

Nalgien holder only 1 size bag? Did I miss something? I wouldn't be able to use the weapon holder very well i have poor shoulder mobility.

No pack option over 5400 cubic inches?

When AKEK first unveiled their Alibaba made in China special they claimed it was the best pack ever. I even 'lucked' out and got one of those first packs for free to try. It was the most uncomfortable pack I've carried in a long time. Not even close. You're still telling everyone it's "The Best Pack ever" which is the kind of statement that means I'll never try another one of your packs, free or otherwise. It's heavy, not waterproof, uncomfortable....

To be honest I’d never heard of AKEK until this thread, but I’m always interested in learning about new companies and gear.
For me it’s more the way you said everything rather than what you described. Sounds like it has some cool features, but coming out of the starting gate saying your pack is essentially better than all of the big 3 is a bold move and comes across with a Car Salesman vibe.
A post describing your product wouldn’t have turned me off like your actual post did

This just feels like backpedaling. The opening of this thread reminded me of Mohammed Ali in his heyday proclaiming his greatness. Unfortunately, he was able to show the evidence.

Now it’s all humility. I just don’t think this turned out how it was imagined, and this really isn’t a place filled with starstruck kids falling for bold claims without the history to verify it.

Kifaru, EXO, SG, etc. don’t have to make these claims. When folks ask for recommendations, the people who have proven them for years speak on it.

This strikes me like the ads for Ozcut broadheads lately proclaiming they are rated #1 in penetration. Yet nobody has rated them and they answer it with “they did really well in Lusk’s tests.”
