a long (18 hours) day bagging the five highest peaks in the Elkhorn Mtns- 28 miles & 8300' of ascent, lots of climbing, lots of rock, lots of blowdown- what's not too like? :D

Did any of you guys draw that elk tag this year by chance, or just out for fun?

Point saved this year due to a work commitment getting in the way 😑. Sooo I'm stuck weekend hunting general deer and elk on the westside. My workout schedule has been a 1.5 mile jog down and back up a slight hill near my house twice a week. Also a pretty aggressive hike/scout most weekends preseason to keep tabs on some local spots and game.

That seems to keep the weight off and provides decent cardio. I really need to work in some upper body weight lifting over the next month though. Also hope to use deer hunting as a means to prep more for elk season.
